The Concerted fund-raising effort started by our Secretary, Dr. Mary Otieno  finally paid off on 2nd February, 2007, when the IMF President, Mr. Achoki, accompanied Dr. Otieno to the offices of Alicia Keys' "Keep a Child Alive Foundation" in Brooklyn, New York. We were received by the Executive Director, Leigh Blake and the Vice President, Elizabeth Santiso.

The purpose of the visit was to do a follow up of a funding proposal that Mary had given personally to Alicia Keys and Leigh Blake when they met at the International HIV/AIDS conference in Toronto, Canada in 2006 (see picture below).
