Food Distribution & Farming Assistance

Nyamila Community Center has a food distribution program as well as longer term intervention in farming assistance. The center distributes food items comprising dried beans, corn (maize) cooking oils and salt, on a two-weekly basis.

The Farming Assistance program entails forming small functional groups with elected leaderships to work on a communal basis on individual plots of land. Each family undertakes to prepare farmyard manure, and the Center assists in plowing farms as well as providing certified seeds and professional guidance from agricultural officers.
